Annette Smith
Annette Smith currently lives in Liverpool, England with her husband where they hail from Portland, Oregon. She received her bachelor's degree from Marylhurst University, and is currently undertaking a master's degree in social research methods at the University of Liverpool where she also hopes to get her PhD in sociology. Her broad interests led her to major in Interdisciplinary Studies, with concentrations in human science, cultural studies, and communication with an emphasis on social problems. This degree helped her to focus on social inequity in education, media, and other social spheres in order to pursue a career in academia.
With a global perspective as a critical social scientist, Annette writes about current events both locally and globally and critiques contemporary and historical movements. Her varied interests inform much of her inquiry. From local politics to global travel, there is almost no topic that is off her radar.
When her nose is not in a book, Annette enjoys traveling, cooking, dancing, practicing her German, watching films, and playing several musical instruments.
